==October 30, 2026 - The Gauntlet==

Seeing the 20 round countdown and the Doom Pigeons, the group decided to take the advice of the sign and ran.  Unfortunately, the six turrets weren’t going to wait for the countdown and opened fire almost immediately.  Only three of the turrets shot per round while the others aimed, indicating sharp shooters in control.  After a few rounds, they figured out that if the turrets beat them by ten they would always go for their nicely armoured head, doing no damage.  After that, it was flat out running.

Reaching a ridge about a kilometer away, the group turned to try and pick off the 5 fast moving doom pigeons that had been released once the countdown finished.  However, the turrets changed tactics at this point to provide cover fire.  They landed a few hits in non-head locations doing some harm.  Two of the doom pigeons were brought down before the group retreated over the ridge and out of sight of the turrets.

Before them was an open grassland with a variety of dinosaurs, many with cybernetic components.  There was a village in the distance to the north-east and a beacon to the east about 20 km away indicating their destination.  Beyond the beacon seemed to be a swamp followed by a volcano.

After about a half kilometer of running, the remaining 3 doom pigeons crested the ridge and charged, but were able to be taken out at range before closing the distance.  McFury flew up to see the status of the remaining slower Doom Pigeons, but found they were staying near the turrets.

After some patching the group continued towards the beacon.
