==2026-05-24 - A Curious Mix Of Xoids and Droids==

Deciding to push further through the zone, the Owsla Irregulars investigate the nearest mound.  Inside they find a long-deactivated X93 battle robot.  Which is an interesting thing to find among Xoids.

The next, larger mound they inspect they find an intermediate-scale Xoid.  And it appears to be merely dormant, but fully functional.  They crept away from it with extreme care.

Then they came upon the large interior door, common with the last two zones they had been through, nominally leading to the section with the singularity.  Suddenly they were triangulated with active scanning beams, and a few moments later the big door rumbled open and another novel monster cantered out and immediately set upon the team.  Its large cannon caused some harm, but when it got close was able to impale Oliver with an attack that would have immediately killed most other combatants.  Oliver shrugged it off and kept fighting, then it hacked off one of Heltu's arms.  Which was when it was discovered that Heltu is strong enough to use both Groucho and Harpo with just one hand, with the assistance of their dynamic support members.

After the monster was defeated, they retreated to slap on patches and consider their next move.  As they did, a large Xoid stealthily crept into the proximity of the fight to look around.  Luckily, Pramorg had hidden them too well to be easily noticed.  In that tense configuration, yet another and different again monster ambled out - this time with a smaller monstrous rider.  They broadband hailed the team to surrender.

When the team didn't answer, after a long awkward pause the new monsters dragged the defeated one back through the huge door.

In the wash of the fearesome combat test, the group realized that they were new seasoned (5<sup>th</sup> Stage).

==2026-02-29 - Echoes Of Nastidyne==

With the newly-expanded skill set (save Sheog - who would be too much of a handful to play as a seasoned NPC, until/unless Ulrich returns) the group all feel an odd sense of "slipperiness" or "shifting" inside their minds.  With some reflection, it feels connected to their weapons.

Regardless, they were still a bit hurt, and Heltu was in need of a new arm.  They recalled that a suitable arm could likely be pulled from the X93 corpse by the way they came into this zone.  So they started back.

Dancing through the mossy foliage and ancient med-tech traps, they inadvertently stumbled on a vine-like net which disturbed a nearby pile.  Whatever was in the pile could be sensed to be quick-starting (so, probably robots).  Acting quickly, Heltu blasted one of them, then had Sheog launch one of his grenades into the pile before they could disperse.

The resulting blast pitched the 9 combat robots out radially.  Except for one, which was launched up into the gravity shift zone and was sucked laterally at 5g's.  However, it was able to catch the top of a nearby mound to self-arrest.  While the blast itself was impressive, it was immediately out-cooled by the rest of the robots managing to make their agility checks and landing in combat/hero poses.  Who then began their attack.

Interestingly, the Owsla Irregulars were all able to hack into hear the short-range battlewiki communications of the combat robots.  As such, they could see how they were being targeted, which gave them an advantage on ducking.

After just a couple rounds of feeling how scary the OI are, and how hard to hit they seemed to be, the combat robots were quite willing to be talked into a truce.

+

Before any clearly aligned purpose could be negotiated, everyone noted that the commotion of the fight had apparently roused a multi-tonne kiloXoid that was now ambling closer.  The Owsla Irregular hid (with help from Pramorg).  The combat robots ran for it.  There were fast, such that they moved beyond observable range with the kiloXoid following them.

Finally creeping through other potential hazards lying in wait, the team reached the X93.  Pramorg expertly removed the appropriate replacement limb, and was easily able to fit and attach it to Heltu's underlying robotic skeleton.  It was suitably beefy, and had an intrinsic -5 armour rating.

==2026-06-07 - Extra Monstrous Monster==

==2026-06-12 - Wait, There's A Bar?==

About the same moment that Oliver gets taken down by the badass tracker monster, two more monsters come peeking out of the Xoids&Droids segment.  Both medic Hoppers use their hypernormal speed to leap onto the gravely-wounded Oliver, and slap a staccato of robotic patches on him.  And with quickrise, Oliver is standing a mere moment after being finished off.

Seeing this, and getting pasted with yet another mortal wound from HELTU, the badass tracker monster flees.  As it moves with terrifying alacrity, it gets another hit from SHEOG's grenade launcher.  Clearly badly hurt and bleeding out it still doesn't go down, but pours all 4 dice into movement.  To the two other monsters, all they can see is the badass monter near death and fleeing - so they discreetly withdraw.

Having had enough of this shit, the Owsla Irregulars decide to head back to Clan Chevobrog to recuperate.  There is a moment of levity as they cross the zero-gravity zone.  HELTU leaps across, and soars like superbear, until they belly-flop when re-entering gravity.  Oliver flings PRAMORG across, which was funnier before everyone remembered that PRAMORG had partial wings and can glide thankyouverymuch.  Oliver does a more-graceful leap across.

During their rest phase, PRAMORG builds hiding spots into the HELTU and OLIVER's armour for the medic hoppers.  Brainy Hopper and Sporty Hopper spend their time working on good heals with the Nastidyne medical tables for those that took a lot of damage - and quietly finish their skilling up to STAGE 2 MEDICS.

As an aside, they all wonder what happened to BOB, the insane Hopper.  They never bother to find out, after hearing god describe it as "weird".

After which they proceed towards the BAR section.  MWA HA HA HAAA!  Er, I mean, as has been temptingly and inaccurately described several times.

+

When arriving at the interface to the BAR section, they hail the obvious guard stations there.  After a short delay, and PRAMORG infers some juggling of the comms, they chat with the Massetin they had been talking to previously.  They are welcomed, in a semi-warning sort of way.  Once again, PRAMORG is flung across for recon, and with a basic hack gains access to the public data net.  And a map.

==2026-06-21 - Hello Sam: Mentalist Hessler==

Before going too far in, the Owsla Irregulars are implored to wait for an escourt.  The Aqualoid they had previously been introduced to as the "goon steward" arrived to reaffirm the request to resist permanently killing most other beings in the bar section, as a mechanism to avoiding total massacre and a modicum of tolerability being trapped there.  He says his name is BORSCANI.

Sure enough, before they progress too far through the brightly holo-illuminated section, a trio of koala-looking bipedal clones challenge the team's two big combatants to a fight.  When HELTU and OLIVER decline, and it looks like they mean to pull their guns and force a fight anyway, the team thoroughly kicks their asses before they even get a single attack in - and they surrender.  Borscani reveals himself to be at least a professional medic when he throw-patches the two suffering from mortal wounds.

After wending past some private domiciles and two medical/repair buildings, they notice a bouncer at what appears to be a brothel.  He warns them to be careful going past the next building.  Sure enough, PRAMORG spots a couple beings well-hidden and with assassination acquires on the team.  The team doesn't like this, so HELTU warns the hat-shaped assholes with high-energy photons.  A big hit sends one floating into the open 3 meters up, and it looks like a mechanical jellyfish nightmare.  Which then assassinates HELTU and floats back behind cover.  The other takes a shot at OLIVER, but fails the assassination attempt.  It too retreats behind cover, and shields close the doorways.  The team retreats behind cover, and patch HELTU back up to consciousness.  They flip up their mil-spec helmets to ward off further assassinations, and mosey past the nest of unfriendlies.  Shortly after walking past, the unfriendly robots drop the shields and taunt the team.  The team is unimpressed.

Which brought them to the big doors leading into the main bar.  Acting as bouncers there were a large Groten, and an even bigger robot - a Y2000 Giant, a machine type of historical note.  SHEOG's grenades are temporarily confiscated.

Once clearing the doors, they see the quiet brooding section to the left, the central fighting ring with safety buffers, and the live music dance section to the right.  Beyond it all was a gigantic window, that was actually an immense fish tank.  And inside that fish tank was a Hessler that thinks directly into their minds, "Welcome!  It's about time you showed up!"

They all get telekinetically served the exact drinks that they would most desire (when they crossed over to the bar) and started talking with the Hessler - SAM.  He enables their ability to earn future stages of Mentalist, and also offers to transform one or two of their existing stages to Mentalist if they so desire.  Plus there is talk about more specifics for what might be hoped for the Owsla Irregulars to do.

While all that is going on, many of the bar patrons look hungrily at Poppa Hopper and Jittery Hopper, who finally accept a ride hiding under HELTU's fur.
