Of all the types of [[Opteryx]], the Masopter is the most capable flier. They are the largest Opteryx able to sustain flight, and have the endurance to travel vast distances. Their maneuverability, on average, is greater than an Fikliess, but less than a Petroch. Their only real disadvantage is that while in the air, their arms can be doing little other than maintaining their flight. They cannot easily manipulate objects while airborne as their arms are busy and the talons on their feet have limited manipulation capability.

There are many variation in the colourings and stature of Masopters, though they are all roughly the same height. They are covered with short plumage from their heads down to their upper thighs, while their wings sprout substantially sized feathers. Their lower legs are of a hard chitinous material, ending in sharp talons.

Masopters have good eyesight, while having no significant weakness in their other senses. Their eyesight seems to be geared towards motion sensitivity. Thus, while not being able to see much detail, they can still sense movement at a great distance away.
