Speed represents both the rate of movement and reflexes for a being. The speed of a character is added whenever there is an initiative roll or a movement roll. In combat it plays a very important role, especially if there are hand to hand combatants present.

A character's speed may give him a bonus to parry. This is due to the character's quick reflexes allowing them to deflect or avoid hand to hand attacks.
